Legacy Builds
Become Part of Thumpstone History
Most Minecraft builds disappear when a world resets.
Legacy Builds are different.
At the end of each season, a small number of exceptional player creations may be selected for preservation and incorporated into future Thumpstone worlds.
A Legacy Build is more than just a base or a project. It becomes part of the server’s history and may be discovered, explored, and admired by future generations of players.
What Are Legacy Builds?
Legacy Builds are outstanding player creations chosen for their creativity, scale, significance, originality, or contribution to the season’s story.
Selected builds may return in future seasons as:
- Ancient ruins
- Forgotten settlements
- Landmarks and points of interest
- Hidden discoveries
- Historical structures integrated into world generation
Players exploring future worlds may stumble across these structures and learn about the players who created them.
How Are Builds Selected?
Legacy Build status is awarded through an application and review process.
Players may nominate their own creations for consideration at the end of a season.
Selection is not automatic and inclusion is not guaranteed.
Applications are reviewed based on factors such as:
- Creativity and originality
- Build quality and presentation
- Scale and ambition
- Historical significance
- Contribution to the community
- Suitability for inclusion in future worlds
Only a limited number of builds will be selected each season.
Recognition
Every Legacy Build will include a record of its origins.
When possible, selected structures will feature a book, plaque, or other in-game record documenting:
- The original builder(s)
- The season in which the build was created
- Why the build was selected
- Any notable history or achievements associated with it
This ensures that future players can appreciate both the build itself and the story behind it.
Preservation and Adaptation
Legacy Builds are preserved for the benefit of the community and future seasons.
To ensure they fit naturally into future worlds, selected builds may be:
- Relocated
- Rescaled
- Restored
- Expanded
- Combined with other structures
- Converted into ruins or historical landmarks
- Modified to suit gameplay, exploration, or world-generation requirements
While every effort will be made to respect the spirit of the original creation, future versions may differ significantly from the original build.
Builder Permission
By submitting a build for Legacy Build consideration, you grant Thumpstone permission to:
- Save and archive the build
- Reuse the build in future seasons
- Modify and adapt the build as required
- Create derivative versions of the build
- Include the build in promotional material, screenshots, videos, maps, and server content
This permission is granted permanently and cannot be revoked after a build has been selected and incorporated into future content.
Builders retain recognition for their work, but selected builds become part of Thumpstone’s ongoing history.
A Lasting Legacy
Seasons may end, worlds may reset, and players may move on.
Legacy Builds ensure that the most memorable creations continue to live on.
Years from now, another player may discover the ruins of your fortress, explore your city, or uncover the remains of your hidden base.
The world remembers its history.
