About Thumpstone SMP
A Long-Term Minecraft Survival & Nations Server
Thumpstone is a long-term Vanilla+ Minecraft SMP focused on settlements, nations, exploration, a player-driven economy, diplomacy and war.
Each season runs for roughly a year, giving players time to establish settlements, build communities, develop economies, form nations and shape the history of a persistent survival world.
The current season, Season 2: Age of Nations, began in August 2026. Even if you’re not there from the start, it’s worth joining at any time. You can start your own settlement or join an established team.
A Civilisation-Focused Survival SMP
Thumpstone is built around normal survival Minecraft, but adds systems designed to make a shared multiplayer world more interesting over the long term.
Players can claim territory and establish settlements, recruit other players, trade and build businesses. Settlements can cooperate to form larger Nations, creating opportunities for alliances, rivalries and organised wars.
Participation in Nations or PvP isn’t required. Players are equally free to remain independent, build, explore, trade or pursue their own projects.
Player-Driven Economy
Thumpstone uses an in-game currency and a largely player-driven economy.
Players earn money through Jobs and can trade with each other using chest shops, create commercial areas, rent land and establish public warps for shops and other destinations.
The intention is for resources and services to have value because other players want them, rather than having an unlimited server shop dictate the value of everything.
Exploration and Progression
The Overworld contains more than 100 biomes alongside additional ruins, settlements, dungeons and other structures. The Nether and End also use expanded world generation.
Thumpstone supports Distant Horizons, allowing compatible clients to view terrain far beyond Minecraft’s normal render distance.
Not all of the world is accessible immediately. Players collectively contribute towards expanding the world border, periodically opening new territory, resources and structures for exploration.
Major progression is also deliberately paced. Access to the End is tied to community progression rather than being available immediately at the beginning of a season.
Vanilla+ Gameplay
Thumpstone aims to expand Minecraft rather than replace it with a completely different game.
Features include:

- Nations, diplomacy and organised wars;
- Jobs and a player economy;
- chest shops and player warps;
- mcMMO skills and progression;
- expanded terrain and structures;
- community world-border expansion;
- staged End progression;
- a custom alternative to vanilla villager trading;
- a browser-based world map;
- optional cosmetic customisation.

Fair Play and Community
Thumpstone is free to play and is designed so that competitive progression is earned through gameplay rather than purchases.
Optional supporter ranks and cosmetics help fund the server without increasing a player’s land limits or earning potential.
The server is community-driven and welcomes players of all backgrounds. PvP, competition and rivalry are permitted, while cheating, exploits, harassment and discrimination are not.
English-Speaking & EU-hosted
Thumpstone is an English-speaking Minecraft community hosted in Europe. Players from other regions are welcome, but may experience higher latency.
Java and Bedrock
Thumpstone supports Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.

The server runs Minecraft Java 1.21.11 and supports compatible Java clients across multiple Minecraft versions.
Season 2: Age of Nations
Season 2 runs from August 2026 to August 2027 and focuses on the development of player settlements and Nations over the course of the year.
Players can start their own settlement, join an existing community, build businesses, explore the world or work with others towards creating and developing a Nation.
Exceptional builds can also be nominated as Legacy Builds, allowing parts of the history created by players to potentially survive into future Thumpstone seasons.
